Today's official post is still on the way (presuming I ever finish cleaning the house), but first, I need to say a huge thank you to everyone who has responded to positively to my Lockdown Diaries. I started these posts with the vague idea of recording what we are experiencing during this unusual time, but also with the secondary aim of finding the unifying aspects of a time in which social distancing and isolation have become the norm. I could never have predicted how much the posts would resonate with people both within our local community and within the worldwide community. The responses I have received, on Facebook and via private emails and messages, have exceeded my most far-flung expectations. It is so encouraging to know that I am able to touch people's lives in a small way; to entertain them a little and perhaps to make them think about things a little differently; and to reassure them that they are not alone in this. More than that though, the messages I have received have made me realise that I am not alone and that I'm not (completely) abnormal and dysfunctional. I can usually put up a pretty good facade even when things are not going well so it takes a lot of courage for me to open up and make myself vulnerable. Thank you all for holding my vulnerability in your hearts.
